mt. rushmoreMt. Rushmore is a huge sculpture of granite found in western South Dakota. The sculpture is of these 4 presidents heads f : George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln. This construction started October 4th, 1927. The artists were Gutzon Borglum, lincoln Borglum, and Korczak Ziolkowski. The heads of the sculptures are 60 feet tall. The whole memorial covers 1,278.45 acres. crazy horseKorczak Ziolkowski went back to Black Hills on May 3rd 1947 to start building
the memorial of Crazy Horse. Korczak Ziolkowski died October 20th 1982 at the age of 74 and left his wife Ruth and 7 of his 10 children to wouork on the Crazy Horse memorial. Crazy Horse is open year round to the public, and more than one million visitors come per year. This memorial doesn't use any government funding. This memorial is still in progress. You can find the Crazy Horse memorial in the western South Dakota in the Black Hills. |
